Getting to know Holston Hills

Holston Hills was planned in the 1920s around its country club, whose golf course was designed by Donald Ross — one of the most celebrated course architects in American golf — and remains one of the region’s notable classic courses.

The neighborhood itself unrolls across wooded, rolling ground near the Holston River east of downtown: period Tudor and Colonial homes from the original era mixed with mid-century and custom builds on larger lots. It’s a quieter, established side of the city, with downtown reachable via Asheville Highway and I-40 in roughly fifteen minutes.

Asheville Highway and I-40 connect to downtown and East Knoxville.
